Cozumel Vireo

Vireo bairdi Ridgway, 1885

Cozumel Vireo, Vireo bairdi, is a passerine of the family Vireonidae that breeds on Cozumel Island, Mexico. It was first described by Ridgway in 1885. The species is confined to scrubby woodland and comparable habitats on the island, including brushy old fields, young secondary growth and thickets within older woodland. It is a resident throughout the year. Its breeding season includes May to July, and nests have been found low in short trees, with open cup nests and white eggs marked with reddish brown flecks.
