This BirdWatch tour follows Birding in the Yucatan's 12-day tour across the peninsula, a longer route for guests who want a wider range of habitats and bird photography opportunities.
The itinerary includes Puerto Morelos, Rio Lagartos, Valladolid, Chichen Itza, Merida, Campeche, Mamantel, Calakmul, Dos Naciones, Hormiguero, Kohunlich, Tulum and Cozumel Island.

Bird coastal dune and mangrove habitats for flamingos, Yucatan Wren, Mexican Sheartail and other restricted-range birds.
Target remaining Rio Lagartos birds, then travel south to Valladolid for forest birding.
Bird near Chichen Itza, visit the archaeological site with a local guide and continue to Merida.
Bird south of Merida and near Campeche city before overnighting in Campeche.
Take a boat on the Mamantel River for Sungrebe and other wetland birds, then visit the bat cave.
Full-day birding in Calakmul Reserve and archaeological zone.
Bird near the Guatemala border for southern forest specialties and limited-distribution birds.
Bird lagoons and forest sites around Hormiguero and Kohunlich before traveling to Tulum.
Ferry to Cozumel for island endemics and coastal/forest birding.
Optional final birding near Cancun depending on flight time, then airport transfer.
