White-necked Puffbird, Notharchus hyperrhynchus, is a bird of Middle America and South America, breeding from southern Mexico to eastern Brazil. It belongs to the puffbird family, Bucconidae. It is mainly a forest bird of semi-open country, forest edges, clearings, woodland, savanna, plantations and also the interior of several forest types, and it occurs from ground level to the canopy. A striking feature is its very large bill, which is black, along with a black stripe through the eye and a white throat and breast set off by a dark band.
