Birding MX / Birding in the Yucatan

Birding in the Yucatan brings together local guides and biologists for birdwatching across Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula. The team includes Joel Ortega and Sandra Mendiola, whose guiding around Mérida explores urban parks, low forest and coastal habitats.

Trips cover the peninsula’s varied landscapes, from northern dry forest and coastal wetlands to taller forest farther south. The operation also works with local communities for elements such as meals, accommodation and cultural interpretation, allowing birding journeys to connect with the places and people along the route.
