Grey-headed Dove

Leptotila plumbeiceps Sclater, PL & Salvin, 1868

Grey-headed Dove, Leptotila plumbeiceps, is a dove of Middle America and South America, from eastern Mexico to western Colombia. It belongs to the Columbidae family and was described by Sclater, PL & Salvin in 1868. In its range it is a bird of humid forest, using both the interior and the edges, and in Colombia it is linked more with drier forest. The nominate form occurs from eastern Mexico through parts of Central America to the western Andes of Colombia, while L. p. notia is on the Caribbean slope of western Panama.
