Crested Eagle, Morphnus guianensis, is a bird of Middle America and South America, from Guatemala to north-eastern Argentina. It belongs to the Accipitriformes and the Accipitridae, and was described by Daudin in 1800. It is the only member of the genus Morphnus. Its range is broad across the region, though it is not found in large numbers, and it favours tropical lowland forest. The species is also known for its crest, which gives it its name.
