Five days from Panama City through Nusagandi to the eastern lowlands of Darien, searching forest and river habitats for regional specialties and large raptors.
About this tour
This five-day route travels east from Panama City through the hills of Nusagandi and into Darien Province. Mid-elevation forest, the Torti River corridor, Indigenous community forest and eastern lowland sites create a focused itinerary for species that are difficult to find elsewhere in Central America.
The journey begins with birding in Nusagandi before continuing via Torti to Meteti. Later field sessions visit forest near Vigia and additional Darien sites selected for regional specialties. Harpy Eagle and Crested Eagle are important interests in the published programme, but nest activity and all wildlife encounters are variable and cannot be promised.
The package includes guiding, transport, accommodation, meals and non-alcoholic beverages. Conditions can include uphill walking, mud and rain. Previously advertised departure dates have passed, so current availability should be confirmed through BirdWatch before travel arrangements are made.
