Dusky-backed Jacamar, Brachygalba salmoni, is a bird of north-west Colombia and eastern Panama in the family Galbulidae. It occurs in humid forest, especially at edges beside clearings and streams, rather than deep inside woodland. Its range includes Darién in Panama and nearby parts of northern Colombia, with an isolated Colombian population in Bolívar. The species is the only member of its group. Males have dark upperparts, chest and flanks, sooty cheeks, a white or whitish throat, and cinnamon underparts, while females are similar but have a buff throat.
