Crested Tit

Lophophanes cristatus

The Crested Tit is a small passerine bird with a distinctive crest and black and white markings on its head. It is known for its acrobatic foraging behavior, often hanging upside down to feed on insects and seeds. This species is found in coniferous and mixed woodlands across Europe and parts of Asia. The Crested Tit is a vocal bird, with a variety of calls and songs used for communication and territorial defense. It builds its nest in tree cavities and lays a clutch of eggs in the spring. Although not globally threatened, habitat loss and degradation are potential concerns for some populations.
