Winter Wildlife Tour 2027
Five winter days across Białowieża Forest and Biebrza Marshes for European Bison, Wolf, Elk and a rich selection of winter birds.
About this tour
This five-day small-group winter tour focuses on mammals across Białowieża Forest and Biebrza Marshes. European Bison and Elk are the principal targets and are usually reliable in winter, while tracking sessions search for the much more elusive Wolf and possible Lynx.
Wildlife highlights
Other possible mammals include Red and Roe Deer, Red Fox, Wild Boar, Red Squirrel, Pine Marten, Eurasian Beaver and Otter. Snow, when present, creates excellent conditions for reading tracks and understanding how wildlife moves through the landscape.
Winter birding can produce Black, Three-toed, White-backed, Grey-headed, Middle Spotted, Lesser Spotted and Syrian Woodpeckers, together with Pygmy Owl, Nutcracker, Hazel Grouse, Hawfinch, Waxwing, Crested Tit, White-tailed Eagle, Rough-legged Buzzard and Hen Harrier.
The group is deliberately kept small to improve mammal observation, allow quiet approaches and reach areas that are unsuitable for larger groups.
