Crimson-winged Finch, Rhodopechys sanguineus, is a finch of rocky mountainsides across Turkey to western China, Tajikistan and Afghanistan, and also in Morocco and Algeria. It is a member of the Fringillidae and was described by Gould in 1838. The bird is the only species in Rhodopechys. It favours barren high-elevation ground with sparse vegetation, and may nest in rock crevices. In winter it moves in flocks to farm fields. The female lays and incubates four or five blue eggs with light speckling.
