Cuzco Brushfinch

Atlapetes canigenis Chapman, 1919

Cuzco Brushfinch Atlapetes canigenis is a passerine of the family Passerellidae that breeds in Peru, especially in the Andes around Cusco. It was named by Chapman in 1919. It is tied to humid montane forest on Andean slopes in south-central Peru, and its known range lies at about 2,300 to 3,600 m above sea level. The bird is marked by a dusky grey body with a rufous crown, while the crown is edged by a black line that runs from the front of the eye to the ear coverts.
