Cyprus Scops Owl, Otus cyprius, is an owl of Cyprus in the family Strigidae. It is found across the island, from low ground to near the highest slopes, and is recorded in rural places, woodland and forest. It is set apart from the Eurasian Scops Owl by its double-noted song, the absence of a rufous form, and steadier plumage differences, with a generally darker appearance. It nests in natural hollows, building cavities and nest boxes, and it also uses boxes put out for it.
