Drakensberg Siskin, Crithagra symonsi, is a finch found in South Africa, where it breeds in the eastern Cape Province Transkei and western Natal. It is also recorded from Lesotho. In the Drakensberg mountains it lives in scrubby valleys and on hillsides, and it is locally common while remaining shy and unobtrusive. It was first described by Roberts in 1916. The bird was once placed in Serinus, but is now treated in Crithagra. It is seen in pairs or small flocks, and feeds on seeds, buds and insects.
