Sayornis phoebe (Latham, 1790)
Eastern Phoebe, Sayornis phoebe, breeds across North America from north-central Canada to the south-eastern United States. It is a small passerine in the Tyrannidae family, and it is often seen in wooded places, along streams, on farmland and around suburbs, especially near water. It also uses urban settings well. The bird is notable for its big-headed look, especially when the small crest is raised. Its plumage is grey-brown above, with a white throat, a dirty grey breast and buffish underparts, and it lacks an eye ring and wing-bars.
