Eurasian Bullfinch, Pyrrhula pyrrhula, is a finch of the Palearctic, breeding widely from western and northern Europe through northern Russia and northern Mongolia to Kamchatka, and south into northern and central Japan. In the non-breeding season it moves to southern Europe, central Asia, north-east China, the Korean Peninsula and Kyushu. It is a bulky, bull-headed bird with a short, thick bill. Mixed woodland with some conifers is preferred for breeding, including parkland and gardens. It usually appears in pairs or family groups rather than large flocks.
