Giant Nuthatch

Giant Nuthatch, Sitta magna, is a bird of the Oriental Region, breeding from south China to north-west Thailand. It is the largest nuthatch, and its long bill and tail help set it apart from others in the family Sittidae. The upperparts are bluish grey, with a paler front to the back and a darker rear, while the underparts are light grey. The face shows two bold black eyebrow lines, with whitish cheeks and throat and a belly touched with buff and cinnamon. The female is duller in the eye area and shows less contrast above.
