Great Dusky Swift, Cypseloides senex, is a swift of the Apodidae family that breeds in central and south-eastern South America, from Brazil to north-eastern Argentina, with eastern Paraguay and north-western Bolivia also included in its range. It is a resident bird and is closely tied to forested country, second-growth scrub, and places around waterfalls. It is notable for nesting in large cliff colonies beside or behind falls, using a nest built from moss and pebbles held together with mud. It also roosts near waterfalls and has been recorded passing through Iguazu Falls.
