Great Skua

Stercorarius skua

The Great Skua, also known as the Bonxie, is a large seabird that breeds in the northern Atlantic and Arctic regions. It is known for its aggressive behavior, often harassing other seabirds to steal their food. Great Skuas have a dark brown plumage with a white patch on the wings, and they have a powerful flight. They primarily feed on fish, carrion, and occasionally steal food from other seabirds. During the breeding season, they can be found on remote islands and coastal cliffs. Great Skuas are known for their distinctive call and are considered a top predator in their ecosystem.
