Green Oriole

Oriolus tenuirostris

The Green Oriole (Oriolus tenuirostris) is a medium-sized bird found in the forests and woodlands of Southeast Asia. It is known for its vibrant green plumage, with a contrasting black beak and bright yellow patches on its wings. These orioles are skilled at maneuvering through the dense foliage in search of insects, fruits, and nectar. They are often heard before they are seen, with their melodious and flute-like calls echoing through the forest canopy. The Green Oriole plays a vital role in forest ecosystems by dispersing seeds and controlling insect populations. However, habitat loss and deforestation pose significant threats to their populations.
