Green-tailed Trainbearer, Lesbia nuna, is a hummingbird of the Andes in Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia, with its breeding range running from north-eastern Colombia to northern Bolivia. It is a member of the family Trochilidae and was described by Lesson in 1832. The bird has a short, straight black bill, and the male carries a very long forked tail with black feathers tipped in green. The nominate female is similar, but shows white underparts marked with glittering green spots and a shorter tail. Several subspecies are recognised, each with its own regional spread.
