Iole propinqua (Oustalet, 1903)

Grey-eyed Bulbul, Iole propinqua, is a bulbul of the Oriental Region in south-east Asia. It lives in subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests. The species was first placed in Criniger, and some authorities later included it in Hypsipetes. Five subspecies are recognised, with ranges in southern China, north-eastern Vietnam, eastern Myanmar, northern Thailand, northern Indochina, eastern Thailand, southern Indochina and far southern Vietnam. It belongs to the family Pycnonotidae within the order Passeriformes.
