Grey-faced Buzzard, Butastur indicus, breeds in eastern Siberia, Japan, the Korean Peninsula and north-east China, and spends the non-breeding season in south-east Asia, the Philippines, the Indonesian Archipelago and Raja Ampat Islands. It is a bird of open country and also uses forests, field edges, meadows, marshes and farmland in its breeding range. Its plumage is marked by a grey head, breast and neck, a white throat, dark facial stripes, brown upperparts and barred underparts. The juvenile is brown above and paler below, with streaking and a broad white eyebrow.
