Hildebrandt's Starling, Lamprotornis hildebrandti, is a passerine bird that breeds in Kenya and Tanzania. It lives in open woodland and thornbush country in open areas, and is found between 500 and 2,200 m. The adult has glossy blue, purple, bronze-green and orange-buff plumage, with a blue-green tail, orange-red iris, and black bill and legs. Males and females look the same, while young birds are charcoal grey above and chestnut brown below. It was described by Cabanis in 1878 and is named for Johann Maria Hildebrandt.
