Himalayan Rubythroat, Calliope pectoralis, is a passerine of the Muscicapidae family that breeds from the Tien Shan to the Himalayas. It was first described by Gould in 1837. Across its range it is linked with open woodland and scrub, and in summer it moves to higher ground before shifting to lower elevations in winter. It is set apart from the Siberian rubythroat by its white tail bases and white tail tips. Three subspecies are recognised, with ballioni in the Tien Shan and northern parts of the range, pectoralis in the western Himalayas, and confusa from Sikkim to Bhutan.
