The Hudsonian Godwit is a medium-sized shorebird with a long, slightly upturned bill. During the breeding season, it displays a rich chestnut color on its underparts and a mottled brown and black pattern on its upperparts. In non-breeding plumage, it becomes more grayish-brown with a lighter belly. This species is known for its long migratory flights, often traveling from the Arctic to southern South America. It forages in mudflats, marshes, and coastal areas, probing the substrate with its bill to find invertebrates.
