Iberian Grey Shrike

Iberian Grey Shrike, Lanius meridionalis, is a passerine of the shrike family that breeds in southern France and across the Iberian Peninsula, and moves to north-west Africa outside the breeding season. It is a bird of open, dry country, especially limestone heath and stony grassland with scattered scrub, trees and bushes. It is set apart from the great grey shrike by its darker upperparts, broader black face mask, clearer white eyebrow, and the white patch on the primaries without white on the secondaries. Juveniles are less distinctive.
