Jabiru mycteria (Lichtenstein, MHC, 1819)

Jabiru mycteria is a stork of Middle America and South America, breeding from southern Mexico to northern Argentina. It is the only species in its genus and was described by Lichtenstein in 1819. This bird is the tallest flying bird in South America and Central America, and its bill is black, broad and slightly upturned, ending in a sharp point. The adult is mostly white, with a bare black head and upper neck and a red, stretchable patch at the base of the neck. Males are larger than females.
