Private Pantanal and Chapada dos Guimaraes Birdwatching Tour
A private, customized birdwatching experience combining the wetlands and woodlands of the Northern Pantanal with Cerrado and forest habitats around Chapada dos Guimaraes.
About this tour
Explore two of Mato Grosso’s most productive and contrasting birding regions with Fisher Sousa, a local naturalist guide working in the Northern Pantanal since 1994.
The Pantanal brings together wetlands, savannas, river margins and woodland, with resident specialties and large concentrations of waterbirds even during the rainy season. A customized route can look for Jabiru, Southern Screamer, Plumbeous Ibis, Hyacinth and Golden-collared Macaws, American Pygmy Kingfisher, Mato Grosso Antbird, White-lored Spinetail and other regional birds.
Chapada dos Guimaraes adds Cerrado, sandstone landscapes and semi-deciduous forest at the edge of the Brazilian plateau. The contrasting habitat supports birds such as Collared Crescentchest, Blue-winged Macaw, Chapada Flycatcher, White-rumped and White-banded Tanagers, Curl-crested Jay and Pectoral Sparrow.
This is a private, tailor-made experience rather than a fixed departure. Send your preferred dates, time available, party size, birding experience and priority species so the route, duration, transport, accommodation and current price can be confirmed.
