Jankowski's Bunting

Jankowski's Bunting, Emberiza jankowskii, is a bunting of the temperate shrubland and grassland of far eastern Mongolia, eastern Inner Mongolia and western Jilin in north-east China, with former breeding records from Heilongjiang and far south-east Russia. It also moves to Beijing and Liaoning, and was at least formerly found in the far north of the Korean Peninsula. Its breeding range is very restricted within the Palearctic. The bird was described by Taczanowski in 1888, and its English name commemorates Michał Jankowski.
