Karoo Long-billed Lark

Karoo Long-billed Lark, Certhilauda subcoronata, is a lark of the family Alaudidae that breeds in south-western and southern Africa. It lives in dry shrubland in the south of the continent. The species was once split by some authorities into several forms of the Cape Long-billed Lark. Six subspecies are recognised, including races from Namibia, South Africa and coastal south-western Angola. Two of these, benguelensis and kaokoensis, have at times been treated as the Benguela Long-billed Lark.
