Lesser Swamp Warbler, Acrocephalus gracilirostris, breeds in eastern and southern Africa and is a bird of reedbeds in standing water. It is a plain, small warbler with rich brown upperparts, a white eyebrow, and white underparts washed rufous on the flanks. The bill is long and strong, with a slight downward curve to the upper mandible, and the legs are blue-grey. Adults of both sexes and young birds look much the same. It is usually found alone or in pairs, moving through wetland reeds, and it feeds on insects and other small invertebrates.
