Lizard Buzzard, Kaupifalco monogrammicus, is a bird of prey in the Accipitridae family and breeds widely across Africa. It is a resident species of Sub-Saharan Africa, where it favours moist dense savannah woodland, especially miombo, as well as forest edges and wooded river margins. It is a small, stocky raptor with pointed, fairly short wings. A black vertical stripe on the white throat sets it apart from all other raptors. The upperparts, head and breast are grey, with a white belly marked by fine dark barring and a black tail showing a white tip and one white band.
