Long-tailed Silky-flycatcher, Ptiliogonys caudatus, is a passerine of the silky-flycatcher family that breeds in Costa Rica and Panama. It is a resident of middle American highlands, with populations in central Costa Rica and western Panama, where the two main parts of its range are split by deep river valleys. It lives in open country in subtropical and temperate zones, including forest edges, secondary growth, pastures with scattered trees and gardens. Its long tail, with the middle pair of feathers projecting beyond the rest, is a key feature, and it also has a prominent crest.
