Polyboroides radiatus (Scopoli, 1786)

Madagascar Harrier-Hawk, Polyboroides radiatus, is a bird of prey in Madagascar and belongs to the Accipitridae family. It is found across much of the island, though it is less often seen on the cleared central plateau. It ranges from sea level up to 2,000 m. The species uses many habitats, but it is most closely associated with intact lowland rainforest. It also occurs in montane rainforest, spiny scrub, altered forest and other wooded places, including plantations of introduced trees. It has long, broad wings and a black tail marked by one wide grey band.
