Mandarin Duck, Aix galericulata, is a duck in the Anatidae family and the order Anseriformes. It breeds in the Palearctic, including south-eastern Siberia, the Korean Peninsula, Japan and eastern China. The species is native to East and North-East Asia. It is a perching duck. The sexes differ in appearance, with males more ornate and females less striking. Outside its natural range, it has been introduced in the British Isles and western Europe, and also in smaller numbers in North America.
