Puffinus puffinus
The Manx Shearwater is a medium-sized seabird that belongs to the petrel family. It has a dark brown-black upper body and white underparts, with a distinctive M-shaped pattern on the upperwings. These birds are known for their long migrations, traveling from their breeding grounds in the North Atlantic to the South Atlantic during the non-breeding season. Manx Shearwaters are nocturnal at their breeding colonies, using their keen sense of smell to locate their burrows. They feed on small fish and squid by plunge-diving from the air.
