Strix nigrolineata

The Mexican Spotted Owl is a medium-sized owl species found in the mountainous regions of Mexico and the southwestern United States. It has a mottled brown and white plumage, with prominent dark spots on the upperparts and streaks on the underparts. This owl is nocturnal and hunts small mammals, birds, and insects. It nests in tree cavities and rocky crevices, often in old-growth forests. Due to habitat loss and disturbance, the Mexican Spotted Owl faces threats to its population.
