Meyer's Parrot, Poicephalus meyeri, is a parrot of central and southern Africa, where it inhabits plateau woodlands across a range of woodland habitats. It was described by Cretzschmar in 1827 and belongs to the African and New World parrot family. Its plumage is marked by black feathers, a turquoise belly, a blue rump and bright yellow on the wing joint, with many birds also showing yellow on the crown. The amount of yellow and the strength of the turquoise tones vary between subspecies.
