Mongolian Ground Jay

Mongolian Ground Jay, Podoces hendersoni, is a passerine in the Corvidae that breeds across northern and eastern Xinjiang, south through Qinghai, and east to western and southern Mongolia, with its range also reaching western and north-central Nei Mongol. It was described by Hume in 1871. This ground jay is associated with arid country and gravel-covered ground. It has a long, downcurved bill and a black band on the forehead. Its nesting season falls in April and May, and the nest is placed in Prunus pedunculata.
