Northern House Wren, Troglodytes aedon, breeds across southern Canada, western, central and eastern USA, and central and southern Mexico. It is a wren in the family Troglodytidae and was described by Vieillot in 1809. It is a small passerine with a broad breeding span in North America and Middle America. A notable feature is its habit of slipping into crevices and other tight places, which is reflected in the meaning of its scientific name. It is also found in many suburban settings within its range.
