Ocellated Thrasher

Toxostoma ocellatum (Sclater, PL, 1862)

Ocellated Thrasher, Toxostoma ocellatum, is a bird of the Mimidae family found in Mexico. It is confined to Middle America, with its breeding range in central and southern parts of the country. The nominate form occurs from San Luis Potosí south to Hidalgo and México, while T. o. villai is recorded between Puebla and Oaxaca. It lives in arid and semi-arid scrub, as well as the understorey of oak and pine-oak forest. It is also known from elevations between 1,400 and 3,000 m.
