Scytalopus griseicollis (Lafresnaye, 1840)

Pale-bellied Tapaculo, Scytalopus griseicollis, is a tapaculo of the Rhinocryptidae family that breeds in north-central and central Colombia and western Venezuela. It is a bird of the Eastern Andes, with the nominate form in Cundinamarca and Boyacá, gilesi in Santander, and morenoi in northern Santander, Norte de Santander and just across the border in Venezuela. It uses low scrub in elfin forest and páramo, and is also recorded in montane and oak forest, Chusquea bamboo, and altered or broken habitat. Its recognised forms differ in plumage, including a greyer nominate bird with orange-brown on the rump, flanks and vent.
