Scytalopus latebricola
The Pale-bellied Tapaculo is a small, secretive bird found in the cloud forests of the Andes mountains in South America. It is characterized by its olive-brown upperparts, pale underparts, and a distinctive white patch on the throat. This species is known for its skulking behavior, often foraging on the forest floor for insects and small invertebrates. Its song is a series of clear, whistled notes. Due to its elusive nature and remote habitat, the Pale-bellied Tapaculo is not often seen by birdwatchers.
