Paradise Riflebird, Ptiloris paradiseus, is a bird of the birds-of-paradise family found in eastern Australia, from south-east Queensland to eastern New South Wales. It lives in subtropical and temperate rainforests. The species is one of the riflebirds in the genus Ptiloris. It was described by Swainson in 1825. The male and female differ in appearance, with the male showing black plumage and iridescent blue-green patches, while the female is grey-brown and white. During the breeding season, males display alone to females, moving quickly from side to side with the head tilted back.
