Patagonian Canastero, Pseudasthenes patagonica, is a passerine of the Furnariidae family that breeds in south-east Argentina. It is a resident bird of semi-arid to arid steppe scrub, from low ground up to 700 m. Its plumage is shared by both sexes. Adults show a pale grey-brown face, a faint pale eyebrow, a darker mark behind the eye, and a tail with chestnut on the outer feathers. The species was described by d'Orbigny in 1839 and is now placed in Pseudasthenes.
