Perija Tyrannulet

Zimmerius petersi

The Perija Tyrannulet is a small, insectivorous bird found in the cloud forests of the Perijá Mountains in Colombia and Venezuela. It has a distinctive olive-green plumage with a yellowish belly and a pale gray throat. This species is known for its high-pitched, repetitive song that echoes through the dense vegetation. The Perija Tyrannulet forages for insects and small invertebrates in the mid to upper levels of the forest canopy. Due to its restricted range and habitat loss, it is considered vulnerable to extinction.
