Plain Prinia

Prinia inornata

The Plain Prinia, also known as the Plain Wren-Warbler, is a small passerine bird found in South and Southeast Asia. It is characterized by its plain brownish-grey plumage, long tail, and slender bill. This species is known for its melodious and repetitive song, often heard in open grasslands, scrub, and agricultural areas. The Plain Prinia forages for insects and small invertebrates in low vegetation and grassy areas. It builds its cup-shaped nest in dense shrubs or grasses. While not currently considered threatened, the Plain Prinia faces habitat loss and degradation due to agricultural expansion and urbanization.
