Red-breasted Toucan

Red-breasted Toucan Ramphastos dicolorus is a bird of south-east Brazil, eastern Paraguay and north-east Argentina, breeding in South America. It belongs to the toucan family and was described by Linnaeus in 1766. It is the smallest member of Ramphastos. The bill is mostly green to green-yellow, with black at the base and red and ivory markings along the cutting edge. The sexes look alike, although the female has a shorter bill. It lives in subtropical and tropical forests, and also uses scrub, tree-dotted savanna and plantations.
