Red-browed Finch, Neochmia temporalis, is a passerine in the Estrildidae family that breeds in north-eastern to south-eastern Australia. It is native to the east coast of Australia, and introduced populations occur near Perth and in the Darling Ranges, with feral birds also present in French Polynesia. It is found in temperate forest and dry savannah, and in tropical areas it can also occur in dry forest and mangroves. It is marked by a bright red line above the eye and a bright red rump, while juveniles lack the red brow marks and the olive tones on the collar and wing coverts.
