The Red-throated Ant Tanager is a small bird found in the subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests of Central and South America. The Red-throated Ant Tanager is known for its melodic and varied song, which it uses to communicate with other members of its species. Although not currently considered threatened, habitat loss and deforestation are potential future threats to its population.
